I know that in one, ten, twenty, forty, one thousand years from now, I will regret more what I did not do, this is why I try to always think first about what I want for my future life. Once I get a job, what would be the most important: Having friends or having 34 of cote R ? When I will be 30 years old, what would be the most important: Having realized your dreams or not having debts? I know that the way I think is probably different than yours, but I know nom that I must, I have to live my life for me, an for no one else.
One year, in an entire life, it's nothing. Particularly if it's another year while you are doing the same job, with the same friend, the same environment. But one year of travelling, one year of learning about different cultures, different languages, this can change something in our life. People try to convince me to go immediatly in University, as if being a teacher in 4 years or in 6 years would change something about my life. Spending times in another country, helping people around the world, discovering another culture, this can make a difference.
This blog will talk about, how every day, in my simple life, I live to assure me that when I will be one my deathbed, I will be proud of what I did instead of being melancholic about I did not do.
Life is a foreign language. All men mispronounce it.

The last sentence is soooo true! I totally agree with you! It's when we are young that we should go around the world and experience new things! Why should we go right away into university after college? We should live our life the way we want and live without regrets. I don't want to have 60 years old and look at my life and think: I should've done or this and regret my actions. I have the same vision as you ! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, guess what, I'm thinking exactly the same way as you do. Some people among my family and my friends think I shouldn't go in Austria 6 months next year, and that I should directly go to the university instead. But I'm going to travel anyway because I don't want to fimd myself "prisoneer" in a three years program with the depts it implies. And anyway I think that taking a sabbatical year in a foreign country will greatly help me in finding what I REALLY want to do later.
