We heard a lot about the Occupy Movement, particularly about the Occupy Wall Street, that is popularized through the mass media. The movement started on July, 30, in Kuala Lumpur , capital of the Malaysia . In less than 4 months, the movement became international, and we can see occupations everywhere on the globe. More than 1500 cities, influenced by the Occupy Wall Street movement, followed the movement since September. On every continent, in countries as Australia , Colombia , Italy , Mongolia , South Korea and Switzerland , there are people who protests. Even here, in Rimouski , the movement exists. It took place during the two last weekends with more than 30 participants. It is particularly remarkable to notice that the movement in Rimouski, is here to protest against the social injustice, but there are a lot of interesting actions, as a movie showing about the possible solutions to the environmental problems and a conference about the economic decrease that should be considered nowadays as a solution to the limited world in which we live.
Generally, people that think this type of society, where 1% of the population controlled 99% of the fortune, is perfect as it is, are in the 1%, or closed to. The problem with the movement is that the army and the police, that are almost all in the 99%, are often against the movement. Maybe unofficially, they supported the movement, but officially, because it is the 1% that gives them a job, they have to defend them. This fact, that a major part of the 99% don’t want to take part of the movement, or even CAN’T take part of it, showed a sad conclusion to the media: In the utmost, 10 000 people participated at the movement in Wall Street, on more than 8 millions people living there. This is 0,00125% of the population that are protesting about the 1%.
I don’t think there will have real impacts of these international actions, but, at least, it showed to the government that a lot of people are frustrated. Some of them, as United States government, United Kingdom government, India government and Brazil government, recognized the movement as a real warning. In Canada , the Finance Minister, Jim Flaherty, said: "I can understand some legitimate frustration arising out of that." In fact, governments are as manipulated as the entire population by this 1%. They are totally dependant of the money of this 1% for their election campaign, for their chances to be elected. Even if they are only 1% on the society, they controlled everything: the government and the mind of the simple citizen. How it is possible to reverse an entire society when it is so controlled by the minority that the population doesn’t want to protest against the situation?

I totally agree with you, even if they try to change the capitalism, they aren't going to succeed. Capitalism is there to stay and maybe another generation will be able to change something if they are the majority, but again there is to many people who just don't care. The movement is nice though, because it shows the govnerment that people don't agree with them and that there are changes to make. I agree with this movement, but I don't think it will change anything soon.
